הכנס הבינלאומי הרביעי "מוזיאוני שואה ומקומות הנצחה במדינות פוסט - קומוניסטיות התקיים ב-16-17 במאי 2016 בריגה. 
The IV International Conference "Holocaust Museums and Memorial Places in Post-communist Countries took place on May 16-17, 2016 in Riga, Latvian 


  

הכנס הבינלאומי הרביעי "מוזיאוני שואה ומקומות הנצחה במדינות פוסט - קומוניסטיות:. אתגרים והזדמנויות. ובעיות של סובלנות מודרניות באירופה". התקיים  באקדמיה למדעים ב-  16-17 במאי 2016 בריגה, שבלטביה. הכנס הדגיש חשיבות זיכרון השואה במדינות קטנות באירופה בעלי זיכרונות דומים. במסגרת דיוני הכנס הביאו המרצים השונים דרכים לחינוך לסובלנות באמצעות לימוד ההיסטוריה של השואה.

 הכנס אורגן ע"י ארגון "שמיר" , המרכז הבינלאומי לסובלנות במדינות הבלטיות. והאחראי למוזיאון השואה של גטו ריגה.. בראש הארגון עומד הרב ד"ר מנחם בארכאן.

במסגרת הכנס נשמעו הרצאות של למעלה מ- 50 פרופסורים, דוקטורים, מחנכים ומנהלי מרכזי לימוד השואה.

פרופ' ד"ר קארליס שאדורסקיס, שר החינוך והמדע של לטביה. ברך את משתתפי הכנס בפתיחת המושב הראשון.

שגרירת ישראל בלטביה הגב' חגית בן יעקב. נצפתה בקהל במושב הראשון של הכנס.

משתתפי הכנס סיירו במוזיאון גטו ריגה וקיבלו הסבר מקיף מהרב ד"ר מנחם בארכאן, מייסד המוזיאון. המשתתפים התרשמו מאוד מהתצוגות השונות (הקבועות והמתחלפות) שפרוסות במבנים השונים. הם הדגישו את השילוב המוצלח של המייצגים הממחישים את השואה בצורה יהודית ובצורה כלל חושית. מוזיאון פורץ דרך בנושא זה בין מוזיאוני השואה באירופה.

The IV International Conference "Holocaust Museums and Memorial Places in Post-communist Countries: Challenges and Opportunities. Modern problems of European Tolerance" Took place on May 16-17, 2016 in Riga, Latvian Academy of Sciences. The conference  emphasized importance of the Holocaust remembrance in small European countries with overlapping memories. It also focused on modern aspects of xenophobic  practices in social and political life in Europe.

The conference was organized by the organization "Shamir", Baltic international   tolerance center . And is responsible for the Riga Ghetto Museum of the Holocaust in Latvia.

The center is headed by Rabbi Dr. paed. Menachem Barkahan

The conference heard lectures of more than 50 professors, doctors, educators and administrators Holocaust study centers.

Prof. Dr. Karlis Sadorskis, Minister of Education and Science of Latvia. Welcomed the participants at the opening.

Israeli Ambassador to Latvia Ms. Hagit Ben-Yaakov. Observed the crowd at the first session of the conference.

The participants visited the Museum of the Riga ghetto and were thoroughly briefed by Rabbi Dr. Menachem Ercan, founder of the museum. The participants were very impressed from the different views (permanent and temporary) slices of various buildings. They emphasized the successful integration of representing illustrate the Holocaust in Jewish and in all sensory. Museum groundbreaking way on this
